Planning a Stress Free Wedding

Congratulations you are newly engaged! So many things to do and not sure where to start ?
I personally have worked this through thousands of times. The first thing to do is breath, everything will work out with the right amount of planning and reliable vendors.
I first recommend a vision, make a list or story board depicting what you would like for your wedding. Pick colours, a possible theme and overall feel you would like for your day. Sit down and figure out a realistic budget. Do not get so excited that you start spending money on a whole bunch of little wedding items until you do this. You will waste time and money.
Pick a date and choose your wedding party order some dresses and check out some tuxes or suits. From here line up your vendors. Do some homework, check on references and reliability of each vendor you are considering for your day. Book your venue, ceremony location, caterer, officiant, photographer, wedding planner, DJ,  decorator, florist and transportation. Remember this is your wedding day do not be talked into anything that doesn't make you feel right.
Once your vendors are booked you can plan with each one of them over the course of the next year, months leading up to your wedding day. I realize there is much to do, but lets take steps to making this day flawless. Over the next few weeks I will do my very best to advice you through each stage of planning your perfect wedding. I am always available to answer any questions you may have specialeventsandflowers@rogers.com. Happy planning! Enjoy every moment- Lynne Krete

Creativity

Lately we have been thinking long and hard about what has made Special Events and Flowers so successful?
God is obviously first along with the love and support of our family. We have noticed something else as we begin this 26th year in business, It's creativity.
This family has been abundantly blessed with talent. Over the next years you will see us branch out more as we bring our own designs to this industry. We want to stand out and this has been happening for us more and more.

Tim and Rob have been creating some amazing designs like gobo's, custom signs and accent pieces. Ellie and Lynne have been challenged with very elaborate floral designs. Amy has been fine tuning details through her detailed eye and Adam has been advancing in custom backdrops. All and all we are so excited to just throw caution to the wind and allow our God given creativity to shine.
We are bringing in new fabrics, new linen, rental chairs such as chivaris and ghost chairs, along with all new custom props designed here at Special Events and Flowers. This new year holds a lot of new challenges but we are up for them.
Special Events will continue to be original, honest and dependable. For years we have stated that we are creators of wedding and party atmosphere and we will continue to be so, the one and only original Special Events and Flowers.

2012

What more can you say about an amazing year then wow!! We are just so blessed and grateful for all the beautiful weddings and events we have had the opportunity to design. This being our 25th year in business has just been absolutely crazy. Many new challenges and obstacles have been presented to us and we as a team have shone.
Our amazing team ( our precious family ) have stepped up to the plate each time. We are very proud of what we do and we strive that this is seen in our work. People often ask us how we do what we do. The long hours, continual days of no sleep and run, run, run. My reply is always we love it and most of all we love people. Years ago when Tim and I decided to buy out our family we were also struggling with the thought of going to bible school. We have always had a drive to serve people. Everything fell into place, we came up with the money and bought the business.
We have never looked back. There have been difficult times, but there have always been precious people trusting us to care for them for their cherished occasions.
We are not perfect but we put our heart and soul into everything we do. With this being the third generation of the Krete family to be designing events we look forward to the future of this talented family. Yes I am boasting about our talents, but when you are aware of God given abilities I think you should acknowledge them.
I am  going to do my best this year to blog more frequently, Lord willing.
I want to thank my amazing talented husband for all his patience and willingness to serve along side me. My daughter Amy- creative like crazy- wedding planner, accountant, makeup artist. My daughter Ellie- creative designer- artist of photography. My son Rob- degree in animation- graphic designer.
Adam-creative designer-team leader and all the others that work until they drop- Lisa, Marna, Lucas, Justin O., Justin K. and most of all our rock and compass in life The Lord Jesus.
Bring on 2013 we are pumped!!!

July, 11th 2012

May and June have come and gone. We have had so many unique events and have loved each and every one.
We are very sorry that we've fallen behind on posts. We are trying to get back on track as time permits.
This season has had it's creative charm. We've had glitz, glamour, vintage and contemporary styled weddings just to name a few. We love that each client has their own take on their wedding details.
Pinterest has opened a whole new way to explore your weddings possibilities. We too have many boards under my name, Lynne Krete. There you will find many ideas for every aspect of your wedding.
Facebook has personally taken over for me. I regularly post our work and events along with other creative inspirations. You can find all of our info, ideas and regular events posted on there.
My tip for today is to pay attention to the details and those little personal touches that make your wedding all your own. This helps in making your wedding reflect your style as a couple.

I will finish this post off with a number of pics featuring cute personal touches and details done at some of our couples weddings.

Enjoy -Lynne
